    working again
Well, I just finished my first week at Blizzard in their Cinematics department. It looks like it will be a good place to work and for the first time I was not given an end date on my first day of work. It is an amazing relief not to have to worry about where I am going to work next.

This also means I played WoW for the first time as well. We will see how that goes.

I am still living in good old San Clemente, so I will be part of the great OC for a while.

Well, I have finally finished working on "Barnyard". Last Friday was my last day and now I am officially unemployed. I encourage everyone to see my movie on August 4th. I put a good year and a half into it and I think it is actually a good movie, unlike Catwoman.

The last few months have been crazy. I think I worked for three weeks straight without a day off. But it was fun.

I am pretty burnt out. So, my plan is to take a month or two off before I start looking for work. Which means I will be able to go up to Seattle for a week or two. I was thinking around August 20th-ish. It will be good to see everyone.

Right now I am on the east coast for two weeks. I am going to Siggraph (the graphics and animation convention) in Boston. It should be pretty fun, lots partying and networking.

    Books
So, I need your help. Over the years I have missed out on reading a lot of books. I think that it is time for me to read all of the books I have missed. Or at least try to fill in the gaps. What I need from you is a list of all the books that I should read before I die. Any type of book, you name it. But it should to be either something that everyone should read or really good. You can assume that I have not read anything.

    Thanks for your help!

    yay!
    QBASIC screenshot
You are 'programming in QBASIC'. This programming
language (of which the acronym stands for
    'Quick Beginners' All-purpose Symbolic
Instruction Code'), which is so primitive that
it cannot easily be used for any purpose
involving the Internet nor even sound, was
current more than a decade ago.

You are independent, in a good way. When something
which you need cannot be found, you make it
yourself. In writing and in talking with
people, you value clarity and precision; your
friends may not realize how important that is.
When necessary, you are prepared to be a
mediator in conflicts between your friends.
You are very rational, and you think of things
in terms of logic and common sense.
    Unfortunately, your emotionally unstable
friends may be put off by your devotion to
logic; they may even accuse you of pedantry and
    insensitivity. Your problem is that
programming in QBASIC has been obsolete for a
    long time.

    What obsolete skill are you?
